Careers Skills
Studying at Coventry University London, students can develop their business skills through a whole range of experiences, from work-based learning in global organisations to our networking events with industry leaders and on campus business challenges.
Get Ahead and High Flyers programmes
The programmes are an opportunity for students studying at both undergraduate and postgraduate level to develop self-awareness, self-promotion and business awareness amongst other skills. Previous students have had the opportunity to participate in networking sessions in the financial hub of Canary Wharf and have attended a Business Awards Ceremony at the Tower of London.
Synergy Business Challenge
The Challenge takes the form of the famous TV show “Dragon’s Den”, with teams of students battling it out with their business ideas to compete to become the winner. The teams co-ordinate and host a variety of student social events and other money making business ventures, before presenting to a panel of judges that evaluates teams on their overall performance and profits raised.
Entrepreneur Society
Students have formed their own society to participate in business ventures outside of the classroom. Past events have included hosting a Coventry University London Summer Ball, through securing funds from local businesses including chain restaurant Wahaca, and designing and selling university branded merchandise.
Guest Lectures
Coventry University London works with a number of high profile and local employers who frequently deliver guest lectures on campus. All students have the opportunity to attend these additional lectures and to put their questions to employers. This is a great insight into how companies work and the skills they look for in graduates.
